Basic remote control car, truck, boat, aircraft, helicopters and other RC Vehicle Information

August 31st, 2010

If you are new hobby radio control toys, you want to know some knowledge about functionality, range, size and power bases, before you decide on the model is right for.

Some of these bases are only "nice-to-know", while some are absolute "need-to-know." Some of this information constitutes "direct impact" knowledge against the final decision on the exact model, manufacturer, scale, and the best type of engine your currentSituation.

Its first decisions depend on when you buy the RC-model for yourself, your child, your grandchild, or if it is a gift for a friend. This article assumes you have already made that selection, and whether you decided on a car, boat, truck, airplane, helicopter or machines – and that you understand what needs to experience your chosen RC vehicle.

Function relates to the type of control that you have about theModel. Your choice for the function are:
Single-function (goes directly to the moving forward and turn left while driving in the opposite direction).
Full-function models go forward, backward, stop right and left, and to load in the case of construction equipment, lift, dump, and perform most functions of the real-life construction equipment.
especially for preschool children, multi-function vehicle forward, backward, to draw only one direction and stop.

Range is as far fromthe model of the transmitter can go before it no longer responds to the control signal. This distance varies for the different remote control toys, toys, but most fall within the range of 30-feet to just over 180 meters. Outside interference sometimes block or weaken the signal. These disorders include things such as weak batteries, others are operated toys nearby on the same frequency, citizens band (CB) radios, mobile phones, and near high-voltageTransformers.

Find the range specified on the packaging, and in the product description.

Scale tells you the size of the RC or chassis length in relation to the real thing. A 1/24-scale Mustang is 24 times smaller than the Ford Mustang to buy from the showroom floor. The smaller the ratio, the smaller range of the vehicle, and sizes from the smallest to the largest 1/32-scale at 1/8-scale. Note that the larger the vehicle battery or the higher amountFuel it consumes during operation.

Two types of drive methods, power remote control toys. They are NITRO (combustion engine) and battery. NITRO requires the additional purchase of liquid fuel.

Smaller electric RCs work on AA batteries, which you would normally sold separately. Larger electric vehicles use batteries in one of four different Ni-Cad voltage versions. They are: 4.8-volts in a blue package, 6.0 volt packs in black,9.6-volt-packed red, and yellow package with 7.2-volt power supply.

The 4.8-volt battery packs are usually included with the model. 6.0V and 9.6V may or may not be included. Check to see the product description. 7.2 V models normally do not include the battery or the charger. Now, separately.

The station also has to control either a 9-volt battery or more AA batteries. Sometimes the manufacturer is among those whosometimes not. The product and / or the packaging, you should say, if you need to make that extra purchase.

You now have enough information to lead to the final decision on the radio control car to your needs and desires. Make your choice carefully and you or your giftee will enjoy many hours of fun with your RC model.

Air Hogs Battling Laser Havoc R/C Helicopters Review

All my 5 year old could ask for for Christmas was Air Hogs. When I saw this as a special on Black Friday – I snatched it up. Both boys love it – the 5 year old and the 13 year old. The 13 year old definitely has a better handle on the flying – and thinks it’s really fun. The 5 year old doesn’t even care how well it flies – he just gets excited by making it go up. One helicopter had little trouble flying – just a few tweaks. The other, however, required a lot of attention before we could get it to fly correctly, and it still has to be adjusted every few flights. It is durable – believe me, both of ours have crashed often, without any permanent damage. The actually laser battle is sort of difficult – it is hard to get both helicopters to a point where you can even battle – maybe we just need more practice. The worst thing is the 5 minutes of flying time with each charge. It seems you just start getting the hang of it when it is time to recharge. Oh and you have to wait 10 minutes after flying to even begin recharging. Hopefully in the future, these charges will last longer. As a parent, it is also very noisy – so if you live in a smaller house – beware!

ripped off – K. M. Freel – Detroit, MI
I can’t really say that I am reviewing the Havoc Heli because the name on the box was Sky Challenger by PiccoZ even though I ordered Havoc Heli. It started with the shipment to the wrong address. Then I opened the package and although the toy looked like Havoc Heli it was named something else (shipped from Hong Kong – maybe a Chinese version). Opened it and tried to charge the helicopters. One worked. The other didn’t. Decided to send it back – returned it to Hong Kong. WHAT A MESS!!!!!!

birthday gift – Dorothy Sigel – laramie, wyoming
I gave it to my grandson age 7 for his bithday and he thought it was the best.

Red, Yellow, & Blue Replacement Main Rotors for Mini Infrared RC Helicopters (1 of each, 3 total) Review

We have the Havoc Heli Laser Battle helicopters, and these rotors are the right size and fit for them. I followed the other reviewers’ recommendations and soaked the old rotor in hot water before trying to pull it off with needle nose pliers. Then, when putting the new rotor on I applied super glue to the shaft to keep it from slipping. It works just as well as when it was new.

Rotors arrived broken :( – Herbalist – Ohio
Did not get to play with the new rotors. They arrived broken :(
The packaging was way to thin for the fragile blades and the shafts broke.
Too sad—we enjoy the helicoptor –the rotors just break easily.

main rotor blades – Aleshia E. Swope – cinci, oh
Unlike the other review, my blades went on easy and worked as good as the factory blades on my air hog havoc heli.

Absolutely Terrible. – Michael A. Junker – Elkton, SD USA
This item was terrible! When I bought it, I carefully read over the description and anything else, and this was after I had been searching for a couple of days. When I attempted to switch the rotors, it destroyed my Havoc Heli, which it is said to be compatible with! I fully regret this purchase and advise all others to avoid this product!

Why a gas powered remote controlled helicopters?

June 4th, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

For several reasons, most beginners choose to start their hobby with an electric RC helicopter. First and foremost, an electric helicopter is to be driven less expensive than a gas engine. Second, it is easier to fly because it does not have an engine. Finally, the generated electric RC helicopter does not sound or smell. For these reasons, we can conclude that those who choose an electric RC helicopter convenience rather the thrill of actually flying it.

Although there is no reason to decrythe electric RC helicopter, it probably is not for hobbyists who want to take more than just a convenience. So the question is, why choose a gas powered RC helicopter? come addition to the price factor, as the gas powered helicopter is not cheap, it is also the noise figure of the engine, which is inevitable. The answer lies here. Genuine RC pilots prefer to bring noise to silence, the cost of the aircraft, and above all comfort. The added complexity of the engine makes it all the moreChallenge for those who are driven by actual experience of flying a helicopter gas engine request. You can not see a comprehensive e-helicopter. Important reason for RC helicopter enthusiasts is the proximity of the RC model of the real flying machine.

Another important aspect is that in addition to flying RC electric model of gas powered helicopter sets are the level of appreciation and skill required for flying at every opportunity. Then, gas and an engine are involved, an RC helicopter pilot takes overthe task of flying to far more serious. Moreover, the real lure of flying is taking an adrenaline rush every time to fly.

The advantage of gas RC helicopter is that the next step, a gradation of ultralight flight. propelled Sun, with a gas engine helicopter, there is no need to update as you would have with an electric RC helicopters. If one upgrades to ultra-light, one can easily get conversant with the actual flying. The basics of flying helicopters learn moreeasily with an engine-driven helicopter than any other RC helicopter, which carries the sky.

Gas RC helicopter can fly at a speed of 80 km / h in one of 1,000 to 12,000 feet. With a little practice, larger circuits can be done, but must be kept low speeds. For extra speed, could be taken off the training gear. Practice hovering above the ground, at least 3 meters high and it holds. The wind is really at this level concern. Control is that much moreexciting!

The RC helicopter gas is much less complicated than a fixed wing plane. Simply pull up or adding gas can to correct the flight. Gas Powered RC helicopter flying so is more than worth all the time and flying skills are tested at every level.

If gas-powered RC flying helicopter is flown in an unknown area, then you should waste no time exploring the area to fly. The tension is limitless!

Check Out Replacement Tail Motor for Mini Infrared Remote Control Electric Helicopters

March 11th, 2010

Replacement Tail Motor for Mini Infrared Remote Control Electric Helicopters Review

These motors are better than a thousand pinecones combined! You’ll need a soldering kit to get it wired up correctly. Pay attention to which motor leads go to which wires. The wires in the tail have a slightly different color because one has a thin insulation which must be burned off before soldering. There are good tutorials on doing this online. Don’t go it alone.

But yeah, the motor itself is way better than ten or 7 magical donkeys.

Air Hogs Apache helicopters and a review of the technology, now with the Radio Control – Toys

November 28th, 2009

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Air pigs Apache helicopter sets new radio-control technology. This new Air Hogs Apache Helicopter is prior art, as far as the technology concerned. Authenticity is the fact it is assumed issued under license with Boeing. Do not worry about fitting though. The unit is completely constructed and consists of a 4-way controller. The helicopter is OK for 8 years more, but you can fly it outdoors.

She controller unit has a double purpose. It controls theHelicopter in flight, but also cost, if it is required. Their average flight time is 15 to 20 minutes and it would cost a lot if the batteries are not rechargeable. There a replacement propeller with the device in case of damage.

At the beginning of the 21st Century, a new transmission wavelength was used for radio control in toys. This had the advantage that smaller antennas and less power consumption. What you must do to be careful when on. is that the line ofSite between the transmitter and the helicopter will always be maintained. Otherwise, restart the device and could be in the middle of a flight … not so good idea.

An overview of the radio control technology is that there are 2 basic elements. They have the helicopters, which the receiver and the controller, the transmitter issuing instructions to them.

Speed controllers have developed in our ever changing world. Now the electric units have replacedearlier resistance, not an efficient unit. We enjoy a steering wheel on our controllers and switches for fast or slow gas. All types of toys now, enjoy this new technology and children can use the car or helicopter and use of new devices play very safe. People can buy hobby units which allow for modular expansion to give them more control and features of their units.

Now it is common practice to exchange modules between different devices. So you can take from a car unitand also include a model boat, do for example. But, pay attention to your local laws that do not allow many of the same frequency for air and land units. The simplification is now in the way of the crystals that you arrive in your control, you can plug unit. These many channels to control once in 1 volume.
